![]() So, there are two ways to go about how we approach the time we have on our hands: we either let time run us, or we take the strings and we run it in our favor. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” Meyer once said: “Productivity is never an accident. Time management can make all the difference when it comes to boosting productivity. The tomato symbol is now widely used to signify the Pomodoro Method as the countdown timer. The tomato-shaped countdown timer that Cirillo used to keep track of his breaks inspired the name "Pomodoro." First, he used the timer in the kitchen, but later, he found that it could also be put to good use at the office. Created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the name comes from the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used at the time. In addition, the "Pomodoro" technique for managing time makes reference to this technique. The Italian word "pomodoro" literally means "tomato," which is the English equivalent. You can be one of them, all you have to do is to scroll up on this page and start the timer. His efforts to increase productivity and decrease anxiety become a success story.Īpproximately over 2 million people are using this technique to focus on the work they are doing. He then moved on to writing a 130 page long book about this simple technique. At first, it was just for 10 minutes then he perfected his technique by deciding on setting a timer for 25 minutes and taking 5 minute breaks. The date was the 1980s and he was Italian so he had a tomato shaped kitchen timer/watch and he decided to use it to track his time. ![]() What does a tomato have to do with time management you may ask, well it all started when a student named Francesco Cirillo needed a new way of working for his overwhelming schedule. Uncovering The Origin of the 25-Minute Timer It’s all about setting a timer for 25 00 minutes, working on the task or project you have set for yourself during that countdown, and then rewarding yourself with a 5 minute break. Just like a supplement to help you focus.Īlso, the 25 minute timer method is a time management strategy that helps you organize your day and achieve your goals. It helps you focus on the important tasks that are due in your day rather than wasting time ruminating over small issues. The 25 minute timer method is a time management technique. The Pomodoro technique has been proven to increase productivity by 50% in just 4 weeks. ![]() ![]() This opens up another exciting possibility for more snug homes: using a wall means you can shop for larger screen sizes. Use on drywall or a stud wall may not be possible, or need extra support with professional installation.įor us, the biggest pro of wall mounting your TV is that it saves space – getting the telly up high means you don’t need a large stand or cabinet taking up valuable square inches, giving you more room for sofas, accent chairs or a children’s play area. Try to stick to sturdy brick or concrete walls if possible. Lastly, your wall has to be strong enough to support both the weight of your TV and the bracket. ![]() Common sizes are 200 x 200, 400 x 400 and 600 x 400, but every telly is different. So, if your result is 100 mm across and 100 mm high your VESA is 100 x 100 mm. If you can’t find the details in the manual or online, you can measure this yourself: it’s the distance (in millimetres) between the two horizontal holes and the distance between the two vertical holes. What exactly is a VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association)? This refers to four pre-built screw holes you will find on the back of your TV – used to connect a mount. Read the spec sheet for the bracket and make sure it handles your screen size (this is measured in inches), weight (measured in kilograms) and the size of VESA mount (measured in millimetres). Once you have picked the type of wall mount that works best for your home, you will need to make sure it fits on your telly. Some keep the telly in a fixed position, while others let you swivel, tilt or turn it within 180 degrees. ![]() Wall brackets are available to fit all sizes – whether it’s one of the best OLED TVs or a more affordable set under £500 – and are installed relatively easily using pre-built holes on the back (you will see this called VESA, more on that below). Mounting your telly lets you change the angle of the screen, gives you more room for furniture and, as the set is less likely to topple over, it’s safer for kids too. In fact, there are plenty of reasons not to use the feet that come in the box and instead take advantage of your wall space. There’s no rule that it has to go on a TV stand. There’s more to setting up your new TV than fiddling with the menus to get the best picture quality and downloading your favourite streaming apps – where you place your telly in a room has a big impact on your viewing experience. We updated this roundup in October 2023 to guarantee that our best TV wall mount picks are in stock and reflect up-to-date prices. ![]() ![]() ![]() Purple horseshoe mica, synthetic fluorphlogopite, talc, ethylhexyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, calcium aluminum borosilicate, boron nitride, synthetic wax, caprylyl glycol, dimethicone, ethylhexylglycerin, magnesium myristate, silica, theobroma grandiflorum seed butter, tin oxide, may contain/peut contenir: (+/-) red 40 lake (ci 16035), ultramarines (ci 77007), iron oxide (ci 77491), manganese violet (ci 77742), titanium dioxide (ci 77891) Pink heart, star mica, synthetic fluorphlogopite, talc, ethylhexyl palmitate, octyldodecanol, synthetic wax, boron nitride, caprylyl glycol, dimethicone, ethylhexylglycerin, magnesium myristate, theobroma grandiflorum seed butter, tin oxide, may contain/peut contenir: (+/-) chromium oxide greens (ci 77288), iron oxides (ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499), ferric ferrocyanide (ci 77510), manganese violet (ci 77742), titanium dioxide (ci 77891) Ingredients in Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit ![]() For a brightly amplified glow, apply with a damp makeup brush or sponge. ![]() Ideal for use with Brush #23 (From the Anastasia Beverly hills brush range). ![]() ![]() Side view of the wristshot of te 38 mm El Primero For those of you interested in the technical aspects of the chronograph configuration, it is an integrated chronograph with a column-wheel and horizontal clutch. Polished steel crown with embossed Zenith Star emblemįinishing of the movement includes circular graining on the bridges, blued screws and a skeletonized oscillating weight with Geneva stripes. The movements may be the same size but due to the positioning of the date in relation to the case size, the number of components varies. ![]() The difference is in the location of the date window. The 400B has 326 components, whereas caliber 400 has only 278 components. The 42 mm El Primero uses a 400B caliber and the 38 mm uses a 400 caliber. And while each watch has a caliber that measures 30 mm by 6.6 mm, the movements are actually slightly different. Inside each timepiece, is, of course, the famous high-beat El Primero movement that runs at 5Hz or 36,000 VPH. The hour and minute hands (with luminous treatment), red central seconds hand with star counterweight, applied indexes (with luminous treatment), tachymeter scale and minutes track are all the same. And other than that, the writing under the “Zenith” on the dial of each model is slightly different. Some other minor differences are the markings on the dial, the 38 mm chronograph hour counter (at 6 o’clock) has “Automatic” written in the center, whereas the 42 mm version has nothing written. On the 42 mm it’s located at 6 o’clock, and on the 38 mm it’s at 4:30. As far as the look of the dial, we think the 42 mm dial is better balanced, but the 38 mm is not so different that it really matters.įor those of you interested in the technical aspects of the chronograph configuration, it is an integrated chronograph with a column-wheel and horizontal clutch.Īnother big difference between the two models is the position of the date aperture. If you look at the (1st slide above), you can see that the 42 mm dial (on the left) has more space in between the sub-dials and the black minute track in comparison to the 38 mm model on the right. One of the most noticeable differences between the two watches is the space in between the sub-dials and the perimeter of the dial. The dial on both El Primeros is silvered with multi-colored subsidiary dials in blue, light gray and dark gray. ![]() The dials of the two El Primeros we reviewed are very similar, although there are a few minor differences worth noting. El Primero Chronograph 38 mm on polished wood display box It is really a matter of personal taste as to which size you prefer. As far as which chronograph was available commercially first, that is a different story as the Caliber 11 did, in fact, go on sale before the El Primero. And they are true to their name “El Primero” which means “The First,” in that regard. So as far as which chronograph was announced first, it was Zenith. ![]() However, what we can determine is that Zenith produced one of the first two integrated automatic chronographs ever (as the Caliber 11 is a module-based chronograph), and Zenith publicly announced their self-winding chronograph before anyone else. Zenith El Primero Chronograph 38 mm wristshot To this day, it is disputed as to which of these aforementioned brands launched first. In 1969, three automatic chronographs were introduced: the Zenith El Primero, the Seiko 6139, and the Caliber 11 (produced in partnership with Heuer, Hamilton/Buren, Dubois-Depraz, and Breitling). In fact, it is actually even more confusing, as there are numerous companies who claim to have invented the first (self-winding) chronograph. Needless to say, the history of the chronograph is not a clear-cut subject, and the history of the first automatic chronograph is no less confusing. As you may have already read, the longstanding claim that Nicolas Rieussec invented the chronograph has recently been disproven after facts came to light that actually proves Louis Moinet’s invention 5 years earlier (1816) was truly the first chronograph. ![]() ![]() ![]() Flag all cards with !POTENTIAL_DUPLICATE and try to use step 1 cards instead of these if possible (we'll work on merging them in future updates) Delete these cards right away (unless you've already been studying them).
